Appellate Advocacy

When a client is faced with the prospects of defending or prosecuting an appeal, they need the special expertise of an attorney experienced in appellate advocacy. Effective advocacy on appeal requires different skills than in a trial court setting. At Mitts Milavec, our attorneys are trained in these differences so as to serve our clients who find themselves in the appellate courts in the most effective manner possible.

Our attorneys have argued cases before the United States Supreme Court, the Courts of Appeals for a number of Circuits, and the highest state courts, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Alabama ,and Texas. They recognize the importance of focusing the case on a key issue and designing a position for the client that will withstand scrutiny and gain acceptance by appellate panels.
