Biography

Rebecca represents clients in business transactions, commercial litigation and collection of judgments.  Rebecca uses her significant prior business experience to relate to the business person’s perspective and assist clients in achieving their strategic objectives and resolving their legal issues as efficiently as possible. 

Rebecca counsels businesses and not-for-profit corporations on strategies for addressing, avoiding and resolving disputes, obtaining payments, reducing legal exposure, complying with applicable law and addressing operational issues, including mergers, acquisitions, transitions, the purchase and sale of assets, business start-ups, capital funding, shareholder agreements, bylaws, customer and vendor contracts, and complaints.  Rebecca has also assisted clients with matters as diverse as complex judgment execution, business tort and breach of contract claims, domain name disputes, foreclosures, creditors’ rights in bankruptcy, lending and payment disputes, and commercial lease development. 

Before becoming an attorney, Rebecca worked in various corporate management and marketing positions and then founded and operated Blue Sky Resources, a marketing and sales promotion consulting firm.  Rebecca has many years of practical experience working with large and small manufacturing companies in a variety of market segments.

Professional and Community Involvement

Rebecca has served as Corporate Secretary, Director, and Trustee for the Incorporated Trustees of Abington Quarterly Meeting of the Society of Friends since 2005 and was elected President of the Board for 2012.  Rebecca is a former Member of the Board of Directors of the United States Rowing Association, where she served as Vice President.  She also served as President of the National Women’s Rowing Association. 

Rebecca won the American Bar Association Section of Business Law’s Mendes Hershman Student Writing Contest third prize for her article titled The Risks and Rewards of Corporate Blogging.  Rebecca also won the American Bar Association Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section Law Student Writing Contest third prize for the same article.

Rebecca is a member of the Independence Business Alliance.

Pro Bono

Rebecca was inducted into the Rubin Public Interest Law Honor Society for volunteering over fifty hours as a legal intern at the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project during law school.
